TRIVANDRUM: The Southern India Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SICCI) Kerala, in association with the National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC), Cochin Branch, successfully organized an awareness workshop on the MSME TEAM Initiative on 24 May 2026 at Hotel Hyatt, Trivandrum. The event brought together business owners, entrepreneurs, industry professionals, government officials, and representatives from different organizations to learn about the opportunities available for micro, small, and medium enterprises.
The workshop was organized with the aim of creating awareness about the MSME TEAM Initiative and helping business owners understand how they can benefit from various government schemes. Participants also received useful information about improving their businesses with the support of digital technology, training programs, and government assistance.
The event was attended by several respected guests. Smt. Jeeva, IFS, was the Chief Guest and officially inaugurated the workshop. Sh. Premraj, Additional Director of the Directorate of Industries, Government of Kerala, also addressed the audience and shared valuable information about the government’s efforts to support MSMEs in the state. Their speeches encouraged entrepreneurs to make full use of the available schemes and focus on business growth.
Dr. Thomas Nechupadam, Chair of SICCI Kerala, delivered a special address during the program. He spoke about the important role played by small and medium businesses in strengthening the economy and creating employment opportunities. He also highlighted SICCI Kerala’s continuous efforts to guide and support entrepreneurs through awareness programs, networking opportunities, and industry partnerships. He encouraged business owners to adopt new technology and modern business practices to remain competitive in today’s market.
Experts from the National Small Industries Corporation conducted detailed technical sessions during the workshop. They explained the objectives of the MSME TEAM Initiative in simple language and guided participants through the benefits offered under the scheme. They also shared information about financial assistance, digital transformation, technology adoption, and capacity-building programs available for MSMEs.
The event also provided an opportunity for B2B and B2C network participants to present their businesses and services. These presentations helped attendees understand different business models and opened doors for future collaborations. Many participants appreciated the chance to connect with other entrepreneurs and industry experts under one platform.
One of the most engaging parts of the workshop was the interactive question and answer session. Business owners asked questions about government schemes, registration processes, digital solutions, funding opportunities, and business challenges. The workshop concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Sh. Rajesh Nair, representing SICCI.
